I came to Utah from Connecticut in 1966. I joined the Mormon Church in Salt Lake City two years later and decided to stay.
Taught elementary school for 35 years. Got a half of a masters degree in Archaeology and Anthropology from BYU and then ran out of money and missed the kids and went back to the classroom for 30 more years.
I also supervised student teachers for BYU's Education Department one year. Got my masters in Education in 1976 with a Social Studies emphasis.
I've been fortunate to get to do two missions for my church since I retired. The first was for three years as a hostess at the Church Office Building in Salt Lake. (I still communicate regularly with a few good friends I met and got to know there.) The second mission, also from home, was at the MTC in Provo, in the Reading Office.
I love to travel and to ride my Moped around town. I'm an avid BYU sports fan, especially football and basketball. I also enjoy puzzle games and reading.

A more formal introduction:
Liz Sartori taught elementary school for thirty-five years—three in Connecticut, and thirty-two years in Utah. She supervised student teachers one year for Brigham Young University’s Education Department in the middle of her teaching career. She is in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.
Liz feels her greatest rewards are the children who have come back to visit her as adults, who have shared favorite memories, invited her to mission farewells and weddings, and who attended her retirement celebration. As an educator, youth and family camp counselor, and scout leader of Cub Scouts, Webelos, Boy Scouts, and Special Interest Boy Scouts Search and Rescue, Liz truly appreciates getting to know and serve people who have blessed her life so abundantly.
Liz acknowledges her work with the Disaster Action Team of the Red Cross (DAT), and her CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) training, for opportunities to learn and serve. Liz received her Bachelors Degree from Central Connecticut State College in New Britain, Connecticut, and her Masters Degree from Brigham Young University. She has two years toward a Masters Degree in Archaeology and Anthropology from BYU and maintains a life-long interest in those subjects. Liz was also presented with the Thatcher Award for Patriotism from the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
